New manager of the Ibaraki Golden Golds, Ayumi Kataoka, appeared in front of the press today and told reporters that her team didn't have enough pitchers and catchers. 6 players left the team after the 2010 season and there are now only about 20 players on the roster. Kataoka will now work on finding new talent during the team's tryouts on the 29th.
UPDATE 1/15 @ 11:53am - The Golden Golds are losing two former pro players (Keiji Fukui and Tadaharu Sakai). Kataoka told reporters yesterday that she will fill all the team openings with amateur players. It seems they also only have 3 pitchers on the roster right now.
Kataoka also added that she wanted to build a good field, low offense team that was capable of winning low-scoring games.
