Head coach Shigekazu Mori told reporters yesterday that Kazuki Yoshimi will probably star the season at Ni-gun spring camp and said that the team won't have any pitchers that can't throw at Ichi-gun camp and then added that they didn't want to rush him. It seems there's also a chance that Yoshimi may not be ready for the start of the regular season. Veterans like Masahiro Yamamoto, Junichi Kawahara, and Masafumi Hirai will also probably start the year at Ni-gun because the team wants to give younger pitchers a look and also because they feel the veterans can prepare for the season on their own.
And speaking of Yoshimi... he worked out for about 2 hours in Chita, Aichi today. He told reporters that it wasn't likely he'd be ready for the start of the regular season and that he was looking further down the road, like around May / June. Yoshimi has focused most of his training time on running and strength training exercises and has not played any catch yet. He added that he wasn't planning on throwing until he went to Okinawa.
