JPBPA to set declaration on organized crime

The Japan Professional Baseball Players Association (JPBPA) announced today that the players will set a declaration stating their intent to eliminate organized crime groups during the next general meeting for the Committee to Eliminate Organized Crime from Pro Yakyu on the 20th.  JPBPA board chairperson Hirokazu Ibata (CHU), JBPA chairperson Takahiro Arai (HAN), Shinya Miyamoto (YAK) and Michihiro Ogasawara (YOM) will take part in the meeting and will also select the declaration for the JPBPA.

NPB commissioner Ryozo Kato, all 12 owners of the NPB, and representatives from the National Police Agency (NPA) and the Metropolitan Police Department will also attend the meeting.

The JPBPA is also planning on joining the Committee for Eliminating Organized Crime that was established by the 12 owners of the NPB (in addition to the ballparks) and the NPA in 2004.
