The Salary Arbitration Hearing Committee met for the first time today to discuss Hideaki Wakui's case. Committee chairman Katsuhiko Kumazaki (advisor to the NPB Commissioner) told reporters that the committee would do their best to make sure the case was settle before the start of spring camp on 2/1.
The first meeting today was more of a formality and consisted of the three committee members meeting for the first time. The second meeting, scheduled for the 21st, will include Wakui, his rep, and one member from the Seibu Lions' organization and will provide each side an opportunity to state their cases.
The salary arbitration committee that will hear Wakui's case is made up of three people -- Kumazaki, Tsuneo Horiuchi, and Hisashi Ishizuka (lawyer).
