Pitching coach Kazuhisa Kawaguchi said that he'd like to give Sawamura a start (he may ask Sawamura if he has a preference for which day) and that he'd actually like to see Sawamura get hit, since there's a lot he can learn from that. ... Former Yomiuri Giant turned baseball analyst, Hiromi Makihara, attributes Sawamura's power to his big butt. He also said it reminded him of Suguru Egawa's backside. ... Sawamura tossed a "mock" bullpen session today -- after airing out his arm (at a max distance of about 90 meters) and getting loose, he tossed 17 pitches to a bullpen catcher at 20 meters in the outfield grass from the stretch. He told reporters that he threw the ball at about 70%. ... Swamura met with TV announcer, and major Giant fan, Kazuo Tokumitsu today.
