Hisanori Takahashi worked out for about 3 hours in Yokohama on Sunday after returning from training in Hawaii on the 21st. Takahashi is planning on flying out to the US sometime in early February and his family will probably follow sometime in April (his first job when he arrives in the US is to find a place to live).
Ichiro Suzuki closed out his training at Skymark Stadium on Sunday. During BP, Ichiro took 108 swings of the bat and hit 21 over the fence. Tomochika Tsuboi and Mitsutaka Goto also worked out with Ichiro on Sunday.
Ichiro will work out in Kobe again in February before heading to the US in mid-February.
Hideki Matsui wants to work the regular training menu during spring training this year.
Said Matsui, "I'll do whatever they say, I'm not thinking about [a separate training menu]. But I might have to [do something else] if there's really hard running involved."
Matsui is feeling apparently feeling good right now and has already done more this year winter than he did last winter. He also still plans on taking some BP before heading back to the US (he told reporters he needed to work a little more on his lower body before taking any BP).
Mac Suzuki is in Palm Springs, CA helping coach some players at the Winter League this year (he was invited by Darrell Evans).
