Wei-Ying Chen arrived in Japan today, fully prepared to begin another season with the Chunichi Dragons.
The Dragons' pre-spring-camp mini camp in Okinawa got underway today. Mini camp will run through to the 30th.
Kenta Kurihara met with Samy Fineman from MCCS TV today and was apparently bombarded by a bunch of questions, including when he planned on heading to the Majors and when he was going to earn his FA option.
Takeru Imamura modified his delivery a bit during the fall last year and told reporters that he got some hints for the changes by watching Hideaki Wakui (SEI) and Kan Otake.
The indoor training facilities the Carp usually use during spring camp is currently undergoing construction and won't be available for use until March. As of now, they still haven't managed to find a replacement.
The Carp unveiled their new Ichi-gun equipment shipping truck to the press today. The previous truck was used over 7 years and logged about 280,000km (about 173,983 miles). The new truck has is larger and is now the color red (the previous one was standard silver).
Chang-Yong Lim arrived in Japan today. Lim worked out in a number of different locations during the off-season this year (Guam, Tottori, Jingu) and said that he was doing fine. He actually had to return to Korea once on the 24th in order to get his visa.
Tony Barnette arrived in Japan today and told reporters he worked extra hard during the current off-season because of his poor showing last year.
Josh Whitesell also arrived in Japan today and said he worked on shortening his swing during the off-season under the assumption that pitchers would be working on making adjustments against him this year.

Yokohama Bay Stars
The Bay Stars held a press conference for Brent Leach, Clayton Hamilton, and Brandon Mann today.
Takahiko Nomaguchi threw 58 pitches (including his off-speed pitches) in the bullpen today -- 30 pitches to a standing catcher and 28 to a sitting catcher. He is the first pitcher to hold a bullpen session during the Giants' pre-spring-camp mini camp.

The 36 players currently in Miyazaki for pre-spring-camp mini camp that began today, held a general meeting last night. Incidentally, about 200 fans crowded Miyazaki Airport to welcome the Giants on the 26th.
Satoshi Fukuda tossed 25 pitches to a squatting catcher at Giant Stadium yesterday. Fukuda told reporters that he wanted to work on throwing the ball harder this season, perhaps even touch 160km/h.
