The Chunichi Dragons announced today that decided that they decided to sign 28-year-old Enyelbert Soto to a 1-year contract worth a total US$80,000 (or 6.5M yen); he has already been assigned the number 70 and will be registered under the name ソト (Soto).

Soto was attending Dragons' camp as a tryout and impressed Hiromitsu Ochiai enough to warrant a deal.

Said Ochiai, "I don't know if we'll use him as a starter or reliever, but I think we can use him.  I think he can help us."
