The first block of spring camp ended for the Carp today. Kenjiro Nomura told reporters he was concerned about players getting injured during the first block due to pushing too hard or being under-prepared and was glad no one got hurt. The second block of camp will include more game-like practices like situational BP.
Kiyoshi Toyoda threw 50 pitches in the bullpen today (30 to a standing catcher and 20 to a squatting catcher). It was second bullpen session in as many days.
Hiroshima announced today that Mike Schultz will be arriving in Okinawa on the 4th and will join the team for spring camp beginning on the 5th. Schultz missed the first block of spring camp due to the flu and got the green light from doctors.
