As part of their warm-ups before practice today, the entire team ran as a groupToshiki Kurobane took lead the and kept the group together by shouting out directions.

More on Yoshitomo Tsutsugo's BP session yesterday: he took 48 swings and actually only hit one over the fence; he also hit 24 could-be hits, 4 of which were hit off the outfield walls.  Tsutsugo was also trying out a Shuichi Murata model bat and found that it was perfect for him.

Speaking of Murata, during early morning shouting practice, he shouted out that he had three goals this year: to hit; to run; and to work hard.  He later told reporters he wouldn't be Shuichi Murata if he didn't hit at least 40 homers this year.

Three players were excused from practice on Wednesday due to a variety of problems: both Naoyuki Shimizu and Shigeki Ushida (Ni-gun spring camp) got sick and Kentaro Takasaki had a bout of gastroenteritis.  Takao Obana was apparently slightly relieved that this was coming during the early stages of camp.
