Yusei Kikuchi threw 60 pitches in the bullpen today.  For Kikuchi, it was his 4th bullpen since the start of spring camp.

Said Kikuchi, "Things are coming along really nicely.  I'm looking forward to how things turn out.  Things are almost going to well."

===== 2/6 @ 10:55pm

Hideaki Wakui threw 45 pitches in the bullpen today (standing catcher at first, then down on one knee).

===== 2/6 @ 4:00pm

NPB commissioner Ryozo Kato dropped by the Lions' Nango, Miyazaki camp today.

According to Sanspo, Tatsuya Oishi (1st round) threw 58 pitches in the bullpen yesterday, including 9 curveballs.

Said Oishi about the curves he threw, "I think they were better than the curves I occasionally threw while I was in college.  I'm a fastball pitcher so I'm hoping to use the pitch to mess with [the batter's] timing."

And pitching coach Kazuyoshi Ono's comments on Oishi's session: "His lower body is getting tired, so he was probably throwing his fastballs at 50-60%. ... He needs to polish his fastball and increase the number of quality fastballs he throws in the bullpen.  He can worry about the off-speed pitches after that."
