From Skymark Stadium to Hotto Motto Field Kobe

by on Feb.07, 2011 @ 10:00 pm, under NPB

The city of Kobe announced today that Plenus won the bidding for naming rights to Kobe Sports Park Stadium (formerly Skymark Stadium) and that the new name for the stadium will be Hotto Motto Field Kobe.

Kobe and Plenus agreed to a 4-year deal (effective beginning on 2/14) that is reportedly worth 35M a year.

Another company, G-7 Holdings also submitted a bit, but at 5M yen, it wasn't nearly enough to beat the offer made by Plenus.

Wasn’t Kaneko’s injury bad enough news for Orix fans? Now they have to watch games at Hotto Motto Field Kobe (that is assuming Orix actually has any fans). It’s better that The Snot Box or whatever it is they call that stadium in Sendai. I wonder what they will come up with for Sapporo Dome. I am hoping for the “Ito Ham Dome”.
