Hisanobu Watanabe told reporters today that spring camp has gone according to plan so far.

Said Watanabe, "All the training we set out to do has been done.  We haven't had any major injuries and a number of players have also caught my eye."

Kazuhisa Ishii threw 205 pitches in the bullpen today.  This on the heels of throwing 133 pitches in the bullpen yesterday.  Ishii also worked on pitching out of the stretch today.

Tatsuya Oshi (1st round) and Yusei Kikuchi could both toss BP on the 11th.  The Lions were initially thinking of having the two make appearances during situational BP / simulated game sometime on or around the 12th, but thought it might be better if they took things a little more slowly and have them toss regular BP instead.  And with a 3-day weekend coming up, the team thought they might be able to bring a little excitement to the fans if they made appearances as BP pitchers on the same day.

Oishi threw 134 pitches in the bullpen today -- he also threw all his pitches: fastball, fork, change, slider, and curve.  For Oishi, it was his first 100+ pitch session since March last year.
