This post will be updated throughout the day.

The Buffaloes have the day off today.

Takahiro Okada celebrated his 23rd birthday today and was presented with a cake from the reporters.

Said Okada, "Camp is going well so far.  I want to swing a lot and make sure I'm ready to start putting up numbers from the first day of the regular season and become Nippon Series champs.  I want to play well and see if I can also win some titles."

Donald Brandt arrived in Miyakojima today.  His tryouts begin tomorrow and run through to the 17th.  If the Buffaloes sign Brandt, it will likely be as an Ikusei player.

Kazuki Kondo faced Keiji Obiki and Keisuke Kaneko during his 49-pitch BP pitcher outing.  Kondo decided to switch back to his overhand delivery this year after spending last year throwing from the side.  He's also vying for the opening day start.

Shunta Goto (1st round) will be promoted to Ichi-gun spring camp tomorrow.  Goto had been working out at Ni-gun spring camp but Akinobu Okada wanted him to experience the Ichi-gun level and decided to call him up.

Said Okada, "I don't really consider him a player that will be ready to play at Ichi-gun this season, but he's pretty close.  I want him to get a taste of Ichi-gun now."

Okada also plans on using Goto during the intra-squad games that begin on the 11th.

Yuki Miyazaki (3rd round) was informed on Tuesday night that he was being sent down to Ni-gun spring camp.

Good luck to Brandt! He is a confident kid and has solid stuff. I hope he does well and sets the tone for a good contract. My son is rooting for him to do well. Good luck from us Donald.
