Today's practice game against the Hiroshima Carp:

The Fighters beat the Carp, 10-5.

Sho Nakata started at first and batted fourth.  Nakata hit homers in back-to-back at bats: a 2-run homer to center in his third at bat in the 4th off Takahiro Aoki; and a solo homer to left in his fourth at bat in the 6th off Keisuke Imai.

Kenta Matsusaka was the startined DH and batted fifth.  Matsusaka also hit two homers.

Atsunori Inaba did not travel with the team for their road game against the Carp today.  He instead stayed back and worked on his swing (checking to make sure he was using his lower body properly).  Even though Inaba's left shoulder still isn't quite 100%, he is expected to play in an intra-squad game on the 19th.

Sho Nakata was informed yesterday that he was going to be the starting DH in today's practice game against the Hiroshima Carp.

Part of the reason why was because Micah Hoffpauir and Eichi Koyano were not scheduled to play today.
