Tadashi Settsu faced Nobuhiko Matsunaka and Nobuhiro Matsuda during BP today and threw about 60 pitches while giving up 15 could-be hits.

Hiroki Kokubo took about 90 swings during extra BP yesterday and hit 28 over the fence.

Renowned footwear maker Hitoshi Mimura worked on a pair of cleats for Seiichi Uchikawa during the off-season.  Uchikawa visited Mimura back in December last year and had his feat measured (right foot: 28.5cm, left foot: 28.75cm) for a pair of new cleats that he hopes will help lessen the strain on his legs this year.  This also isn't the first time Mimura has worked with Uchikawa.

DYK: Mimura made running sneakers for Mizuki Noguchi and Naoko Takahashi.  He also makes cleats for Ichiro Suzuki and Norichika Aoki.

Kenji Otonari arrived in Miyazaki last night and was back at practice today after being given an excused absence due to his father's death.   Otonari's father passed away on the 6th at the age of 69.
