Yesterday's intra-squad game:

Taishi Nakagawa started at third and batted 7th; he went 3-for-3 with a homer and 4 RBI.

Senichi Hoshino apparently wasn't too pleased at how today's practice game ended.  After the game, he rounded up the players and said, "Hits and home runs are hard to come by.  You need to think what about what kinds of things you can do to annoy the opponent."

Masahiro Tanaka threw 207 pitches in the bullpen today.  He also had someone stand in the left batter's box.  This was Tanaka's first ever 200+ pitch bullpen session and it comes just a couple days after tossing 120 pitches (2/11).   And it seems Tanaka started to feel a little fatigue after he threw around 130 pitches.

The Eagles drew 950 fans yesterday.

Katsuya Nomura was all over the place yesterday -- he arrived in Kumejima at 10:30am and met with Senichi Hoshino and team president Hiroshi Mikitani for about 30 minutes; after that he visited the bullpen to watch the pitchers and spent some time talking to Motohiro Shima; he then visited the Ni-gun grounds for about an hour (he wanted to check on players like Takeshi Yamasaki) and ate lunch at the Ni-gun facilities while speaking to a number of players; he finished by returning to the Ichi-gun grounds to watch the intra-squd game.
