This post will be updated throughout the day.

The Fighters have the day off today.

Yesterday's practice game against the Samsung Lions:

Sho Nakata started in left and batted fourth.  He went 1-for-4.  In his third at bat in the 6th, Nakata also hit a fly ball to deep center and almost had a home run, had it not been for the wind.  Instead, it just ended up being a long fly ball out.

Eiichi Koyano will be joining the Ichi-gun team at Nago tomorrow.  His back must be feeling better.

Tsuyoshi Nishioka (LOT) told reporters that he was glad to hear of Nakata's recent success at the plate.

Nishioka - "There are a few things I told him, so in that sense, I'm happy to hear he's doing well. ... But if you do so well at this time in the year, there's a chance things won't go so well during the season. ... He's got some potential.  The question is whether or not he can consistently put up good numbers once the season starts and whether or not he has the ability to make adjustments during the bad times.  I'd like for him to do his best."
