Yesterday's intra-squad game:
Yuta Omine threw two shutout innings for the reds (entered the game in the 3rd) while walking 1 and allowing 1 hit. He only managed to start 1 of 8 batters he faced with a strike.
Takashi Ogino started at short and batted 2nd for the white team. He struggled a bit on defense: in the 4th, he made a fielding error on a grounder between third and short (hit by Ishimine); and in the 8th, he bounced a throw to first on a routine grounder hit by Tae-Kyun Kim. Seems the throwing problems might be related to his knee not being 100% yet (Ogino told reporters it was around 85%).
Shota Koike (4th round) was the starting DH and batted 10th. His infield single in the last scheduled inning (8th), with runners on first and third with 1 out, won the game for the whites. The hit came off Tetsuya Yamamoto.
Shota Ishimine (1st round) started in right and batted 2nd for the reds. He went 0-for-2 at the plate (reached base twice on an error and walk), but made a nice play on a line drive in the 3rd inning of the bat of Koike and also stole a base in the 7th.

Makoto Imaoka spent time taking BP in the cages today and told reporters that his back was feeling fine.

Yuta Omine threw 70 pitches in the bullpen today. Omine wasn't planning on throwing quite as much, but kept on going because he had a good feel for the ball. Regarding his outing yesterday, Omine said that he was throwing with his upper body too much.

Hayden Penn threw 102 pitches in the bullpen today. He apparently showed better control than during his situational BP outing on the 15th (previous reports mentioned he walked 3 of 6 batters, Nikkan Sports claims 4 of 6).
