Today's practice game against the LG Twins:

The game ended in a 7-7 tie.

Toshiya Okada entered the game in the 7th and tossed two perfect innings -- he mixed in his fork and change in the 7th and retired the side in order and then used only his fastball in the 8th.

Takuya Asao threw 41 pitches in the bullpen today.

===== 2/17 @ 4:31pm

Yoshihiro Suzuki threw 69 pitches in the bullpen today (including off-speed pitches).  Suzuki actually missed a situational BP session during the second block of spring camp due to tightness in his right elbow, but appears to be fine now.

Maximo Nelson hit a ball over the fence during BP yesterday.

Wei-Ying Chen was sent down to Ni-gun spring camp yesterday.

Nikkan Sports has a summary of how things went down yesterday:

Chen did not arrive at the stadium in the team bus.  His name was on the list of players that were supposed to be practicing.

Chen finally did arrive after 2pm.  But he showed no signs of starting practice.  After about 20-30 minutes, he was seen leaving the stadium.

At the hotel, Chen avoided the press by getting in through a back entrance.

Piecing together various bits of information mentioned by club officials, it seems the tightness Chen experienced in his left leg on the 10th, flared up again yesterday.  The coaches then decided to give Chen some breathing room by sending him down to Ni-gun spring camp.  The tightness doesn't seem to be serious and the club will likely see how things progress over the next 2-3 days.

For practice today, Chen spent time in the weight training room and also did some running and played some catch.
