Today's practice game against the Nippon Ham Fighters:
The Fighters won the game, 6-4.
Kenjiro Tanaka started the game and gave up 5 runs over 5 innings of work, including a 2-run homer to Micah Hoffpauir in the 2nd and a 2-run homer to Yoshio Itoi in the 5th.
Go Kida hit a solo homer to right to start the 6th. Bobby Keppel was on the mound for the Fighters.
Yesterday's intra-squad game:
Brent Leach started the game for the reds and did not allow a run over 2 innings of work.
Tomokazu Oka entered the game in the 5th and gave up an unearned run over two innings of work for the whites. He faced 7 batters, allowed one hit, and 16 of his 32 pitches were two-seamers (including 5 straight against Takehiro Ishikawa in the 5th).
While Tomokazu Oka did throw his two-seamer last season, he plans on using it more often this year (especially because of the new baseball).
