Today's intra-squad game:
Chan Ho Park started for the whites and gave up 4 runs (3 earned) over 3.2 innings of work. Two balks were also called against Park in the 4th inning. Hiroshi Kisanuki started the game for the red team and did not allow a run over 3 innings of work (he did give up 2 hits).
Mamoru Kishida entered the game in the 4th inning and pitched a shutout inning of relief; he also gave up 1 hit. Yoshihisa Hirano entered the game in the 6th and retired the side in order in his one inning of work.
Takahiro Okada's swing will be the topic of a future installment of NHK's Einstein's Eye (アインシュタインの眼). Filming for the program took place yesterday and involved 4 hi-speed cameras - one camera capable of filming 10,000 frames a second, two cameras at 1,000 frames a second, and one camera at 600 frames a second. No mention of when the episode will air, but it certainly seems interesting.
FYI: over 7 practice games (including 4 intra-squad games) Okada is 5-for-23 with an RBI.
