Exhibition games from the 27th:

Seattle Mariners 13 - San Diego Padres 12
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted lead-off for the Seattle Mariners.  He went 1-for-3 - G4, infield single, G5.

Oakland A's 15 - Chicago Cubs 7
Kosuke Fukudome started in right and batted first.  He went 0-for-2 with a walk: walk, Ks, G6.

Royals 4 - Rangers 2
Yoshinori Tateyama entered the game in the 7th and tossed a shutout inning in relief (1 H, 1 BB) - double to center, F9, G3, BB, G3.

Twins 8 - Red Sox 4
Tsuyoshi Nishioka started at second and batted 2nd.  He went 1-for-3 with an RBI: G6, FO2, RBI single to right (off Hideki Okajima).

Hideki Okjajima entered the game in the 5th for the Red Sox and gave up 4 runs (all earned) over an inning of work (5 H, 0 BB, 2 SO).

Intra-squad game from the 26th:

Hideki Matsui went 0-for-2.  And as mentioned yesterday, he was dropped from batting third to fourth after he got to the dugout late.

Ichiro spent some time signing autographs before the start of practice on the 27th.  Seems one of the fans tried to force his way to the front and ended up falling onto the field.

During practice, Ichiro swung the bat 31 times and hit 2 over the fence.  He also did some base-running.  Practice on the 27th lasted about 2 hours.

Hisanori Takahashi threw 31 pitches to 4 batters during BP on the 27th.  28 of the 31 pitches apparently went for strikes.  Takahashi will make another appearance as a BP pitcher on 3/1 before getting a chance to pitch in an exhibition game.

Daisuke Matsuzaka threw 43 pitches in the bullpen in preparation for an outing during an exhibition game against the Minnesota Twins on the 28th.  He paid particular attention to his cutter -- he turned to pitching coach Curt Young and catcher Jason Varitek for advice.

Ryota Igarashi started warming up in the bullpen in the 9th inning during the NY Mets - Atlanta Braves exhibition game on the 27th, but did not pitch.  After the game, Igarashi said that he was prepared to be used in this kind of manner throughout Spring Training since he was there on an invite and that his goal was to be ready at all times.
