Tsuyoshi Nishioka will start at short for an exhibition game against the Baltimore Orioles on the 3rd.  During practice on the 2nd, Nishioka spent over an hour working out at short.

Kenshin Kawakami finally joined the Atlanta Braves on the 2nd (he had problems securing his visa)

Takashi Saito started throwing again on the 2nd (30 pitches in the bullpen) and is still scheduled to pitch in an exhibition game on the 5th.  Saito hadn't done anything throwing since feeling tightness in his right leg on the 28th.
