by on Mar.04, 2011 @ 11:23 pm, under NPB

Chunichi Dragons

Hitoki Iwase's one start of the year will apparently take place during tomorrow's exhibition game against the Orix Buffaloes (at Nagoya Dome).

Hanshin Tigers

The Tigers worked out for about 2 hours at Rexxam Stadium today in preparation for their exhibition game against the Yokohama Bay Stars tomorrow.  Akinobu Mayumi also spent some time working with Katsuhiko Saka on his swing.

Kenji Jojima hit four over the fence during outdoor BP today.  For Jojima, it was his third consecutive day of taking outdoor BP.

Yomiuri Giants

Tetsuya Utsumi worked out at Giants Stadium today in preparation for his exhibition game start against the Nippon Ham Fighters (at Sapporo Dome) tomorrow.

The Giants called up Takahisa Ueno today.  He'll be swapping places with Hideki Sunaga, who walked 2 and threw 2 wild pitches during his outing against the Seibu Lions on the 3rd.  Sunaga was looking forward to traveling to his old digs in Sapporo and was a little disappointed with the demotion (although he fully understood why).

Hideki Asai is scheduled to start tomorrow's Ikusei League game against Yakult.

Yakult Swallows

The Swallows had to sit through a delay at New Chitose Airport (in Sapporo) today that lasted more than 2 hours (due to heavy snowfall).  They ended up arriving in Fukouka an hour and 35 minutes behind schedule.

Hiroshima Carp

Jumpei Shinoda is scheduled to start tomorrow's exhibition game against the Hanshin Tigers; Yuki Saito will be starting an Ikusei League game against Orix.

The Carp played a practice game against All Hiroshima (Industrial League) team today and beat them, 1-0.  The Carp scored their run in the first when Shota Dobayashi doubled to right with 2 outs and Tsubasa Aizawa singled him home.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Kentaro Takasaki tossed a bullpen today in preparation for his exhibition game start against the Hanshin Tigers tomorrow.
