Yomiuri Giants

The team visited Takuya Kimura's grave today to pay their respects.

Tatsunori Hara told reporters today that he didn't want to let any of his pitchers to step into the batter's box during exhibition games this year (out of fear of injury).  With regards to have Michihiro Ogasawara take grounders at third during pre-game practice yesterday, Hara said he wanted him to play first, but also wanted him to be ready to play third in case someone got hurt.

Hirokazu Sawamura (1st round) threw 55 pitches in the bullpen today; he also had a batter stand in the batter's box for parts of the session.  Sawamura is scheduled to start an exhibition game against the Orix Buffaloes (at Kyocera Dome) on the 12th.

Yakult Swallows

Tatsuyoshi Masubuchi started an Ikusei League game today and did not allow a run over 7 innings of work (he did give up 2 hits).

Hiroshima Carp

Kenjiro Nomura worked directly with Takahiro Iwamoto on his hitting today.  Seems Iwamoto pushing so hard during the session that his batting gloves were all torn up.

Takuro Ishii visited the children's ward at Hiroshima University Hospital after practice today in order to donate some books.  He plans to continue donating more books over the course of the season.
