The media learned on Sunday that the 12 NPB teams will be holding a special executive committee meeting on the 15th to discuss what to do about the start of the season. The meeting will also cover what needs to be done for the Rakuten Eagles -- Kleenex Stadium isn't fit to play in due to things like cracks in the structure; water leaks; and depressions in field.
Kunio Shimoda, Secretary general of NPB - "Rakuten has suffered damages. We need to figure out what to do. We're less than 2 weeks away from the start of the season."
Jun Yoneda, Rakuten Eagles rep - "Ideally, I think it's our job to play games in order to lift spirits and bring courage to everyone in the Tohoku region. ... But we need to make this decision after taking a look at the big picture; this isn't just about problems with the stadium, but also the growing list of casualties. ... [With regards to the stadium,] we are moving forward with inspections. We have professionals looking into things and we'll base our decisions on what they say."
