Seattle Mariners 5 - Chicago Cubs 3
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted 1st (replaced on defense in the 7th).  He went 0-for-4: ground out to first, ground out to second (with runners on first and second and no out in the 3rd), fly out to center, ground out to third.  His hitting streak stopped at 6.

Kosuke Fukudome started in right and batted 1st (replaced on defense in the 4th).  He went 0-for-3: fly out to left, line out to right (with runners on second and third and 1 out in the 2nd inning), fly out to center.

Cleveland Indians 9 - Oakland A's 8
Hideki Matsui was the starting DH and batted 4th (replaced by a pinch-runner in the 8th).  He went 0-for-3: ground out to first, fly out to third, strikeout looking, walk.

Boston Red Sox 2 - NY Yankees 1
Hideki Okajima entered the game in the 7th, with the Red Sox up 2-1, and tossed a shutout inning in relief: 1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 SO, 0 HR.

Atlanta Braves 1 - St Louis Cardinals 1
Kenshin Kawakami entered the game in the 6th, with the score tied at 0, and gave up a run over 2 innings of work: 2 IP, 3 H, 1  R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 0 SO, 1 HR.


Koji Uehara threw 26 pitches in the bullpen on the 14th.  This was his first bullpen session since he got a cortisone shot on the 3rd.


Kei Igawa arrived in Japan (Narita airport) on Monday and had with him a bunch of supplies, including water, batteries, and cup noodles. ... The LA Dodgers will apparently give fans 2 free exhibition games tickets if they donate $20 or more to rescue and relief efforts in northern Japan. ... Daisuke Matsuzaka, Junichi Tazawa, Itsuki Shoda, and Okajima stood outside the stadium before their game against the NY Yankees on the 14th to collect donations from fansTsuyoshi Nishioka and Michael Cuddyer recorded a message asking fans to donate money; the video was aired before a game broadcast on the 14th.
