Kazuki Yoshimi tossed a shutout inning (threw 17 pitches; fastballs and sliders) during a Ni-gun game against Orix yesterday. For Yoshimi, it was his first start since undergoing surgery on his right elbow.
As of yesterday, Kenji Jojima was penciled in to catch 3 innings during today's practice game against the Orix Buffaloes. The schedule after that will largely depend on how he's feeling tomorrow, but the Tigers are hoping he'll be able to catch again on the 18th (practice game against Orix at Kyocera Dome) and the 19th (exhibition game against Nippon Ham at Sapporo Dome).
Keichi Hirano spent about 40 minutes in the batting cages on his day off yesterday.
Kentaro Sekimoto was held out of yesterday's practice game against the Yomiuri Giants because he wasn't feeling well. He stayed back at Koshien and did some light workouts (played some catch and took some soft toss BP). The Tigers don't expect Sekimoto to miss too much time.

Akihiro Higashide is currently working his way back from a left elbow sprain (suffered on the 13th) and joined the team for practice yesterday. He did not take any BP and he won't be traveling with the team for their exhibition game against the Chunichi Dragons (Nagoya Dome).
Takaaki Matsumoto injured the PCL in his left knee and was set to get it re-examined today.
As of yesterday, Takeru Imamura and Yuya Fukui (1st round) were scheduled to make appearances during today's Ni-gun game against Softbank -- Imamura was penciled in to start and go 5 innings while Fukui was set to relieve and toss 4 innings.
