Practice games from today:

Orix Buffaloes vs Hanshin Tigers (Koshien)

Hiroshi Kisanuki started the game for the Buffaloes and gave up 5 runs on 9 hits over 5 innings of work (2 runs in the first, 1 run in the second, and 2 runs in the third).

Masanori Fujihara started the game for the Tigers and did not give up a run over 2 innings of work.  He also gave up 1 just 1 hit and struck out 2.

Kenji Jojima was the starting catcher and batted 7th (through 3 innings and then replaced).  He told reporters after the game that there were no problems during the game.

Matt Murton started in right and batted first.  He also hit a solo homer to right-center off Kisanuki in the 2nd inning (2-0 count, 145km/h fastball) and went 2-for-2 in the game (or according to other reports, had 3 hits in the game: double to right-center in the 1st; solo homer in the 2nd, and a single to center in the 4th).

Craig Brazell collected 3 hits in the game.

Yomiuri Giants vs Yakult Swallows (Jingu)

Dicky Gonzalez started the game for the Giants and gave up 1 run on 4 hits over 6 innings of work.  He also struck out 6.

Yoshinori Sato was the third pitcher to take the mound; he tossed two shutout innings and did not allow a hit.  Yoshinori also topped out at 155km/h.

Seibu Lions Intra-squad Game (Seibu Dome)

Tatsuya Oishi (1st round) was one of the starters and gave up 4 runs on 10 hits (including a solo homer to Takeya Nakamura) over 6 innings of work.  He also topped out at 143km/h.

Yusei Kikuchi entered the game in the 7th (after Oishi) and gave up 3 runs over 2 innings of work.  He topped out at 145km/h.

Kazuhisa Makita (2nd round) was the other starter and gave up 1 run on 3 hits (including a solo homer to G.G. Sato) over 6 innings of work.
