Hodo Station (a news program on TV Asahi) invited all 6 Pacific League managers to present their opening day starting line-ups. Below is what was presented, along with a summary of what each of the managers talked about regarding their line-ups.
Senichi Hoshino: If the season started on 3/25, the opening day pitcher would have been Masahiro Tanaka.
Chiba Lotte Marines
Norifumi Nishimura: Lead-off batter was a toss-up between Okada and Ikuhiro Kiyota. Key to the season will be the lead-off batter and the shortstop position.
Koji Akiyama: Plenty of power in the line-up. Also have Jose Ortiz off the bench. First two batters will be key to how well the line-up performs.
Akinobu Okada: Starting Shunta in right is apparently symbolic of the team's youth movement. Obiki was inserted into the second spot to break up the left-handed bats.
Hisanobu Watanabe: The entire line-up will need to work together in order to beat Darvish. 7, 8, 9 batters are "fresh" players with potentially bright futures.
Nippon Ham Fighters

Masataka Nashida: Lots of bunts to try and score as many runs as possible of Wakui. More than Nakata and Hoffpauir, Nashida looking forward to Yoh's potential.
At the end, Hoshino was asked about a Masahiro Tanaka vs Yuki Saito match-up. Hoshino seemed quite interested in getting it done because it was what the fans wanted. He also said he'd be more than happy to change Tanaka's pitching schedule if it meant it could happen. Nashida did his best to wiggle out of making any firm promises.
