4/21/2011: Ichiro Suzuki, Hideki Matsui, Koji Uehara

Games from the 20th:

Detroit Tigers 3 - Seattle Mariners 2
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 1-for-4: ground out to short, RBI single to right, ground out to third, fly out to left.  Ichiro has now hit safely in four straight.

Boston Red Sox 5 - Oakland A's 3
Hideki Matsui started in DH and batted fourth.  He went 2-for-4: walk, strikeout swinging, fly out to center, single to center, single to center (run scored).

Baltimore Orioles 5 - Minnesota Twins 4
Koji Uehara entered the game in the 8th, with Baltimore up 5-3, and gave up a run over an inning of work.  Final line: 1 IP, 6 BF, 24-16 NP-S, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 SO, 0 HR.

Chicago Cubs 2 - San Diego Padres 1 (Game 1 of doubleheader)
Kosuke Fukudome entered the game as a defensive replacement (right field) in the 7th.  He went 2-for-2: infield single, single to right.

San Diego Padres 5 - Chicago Cubs 4 (Game 2 of doubleheader)
Kosuke Fukudome started in right and batted first.  He went 2-for-5: strikeout (foul tip), fly out to left, single to right, pop out to short, single to right.


Kenshin Kawakami, currently pitching a Double-A Mississippi, was placed on the 7-day DL on 20th due to right shoulder pains.  Kawakami started a game on the 17th and started complaining of pains the following day.  Since the pain didn't improve on the 19th, the team decided to place him on the 7-day DL.  (via Nikkan Sports)


Takashi Saito is scheduled to pitch situational BP / simulated game on the 22nd.  The team will decide on what to do with Saito after the outing.
