The Giants worked out at Tokyo Dome today for the first time after the earthquakes. They played with energy usage cut down by about 50%. Practices began and 1pm. They played played catch with energy usage down 50%. That was brought up to about 75% during BP. The club also checked to make sure there was enough light in the concourse and stands (fan safety). They'll continue testing the settings tomorrow.
The goal is to get by on 40% less energy than usual. The Giants also have plans to start using a generator to help off-set energy usage beginning on 5/11.
The Giants announced today that Hideki Asai donated 1M yen to relief efforts in northern Japan.
Hiroshi Katayama and Manabu Mima collected donations before tonight's game against the Nippon Ham Fighters at Hotto Motto Field.
