Pitching coach Masato Yoshii wants Yuki Saito to start throwing more fastballs.  Said Yoshii, "[He] can't keep pitching like this.  He needs to increase the number of fastballs he throws, otherwise he'll never throw a complete game.  I told Saito the best he'll do is maybe 6 innings."

Orix Buffaloes

Shunta playfully threw some pitches off the mound before BP today.  Shunta topped out at 147km/h as a high school pitcher.

Former Hankyu players Hisashi Yamada, Yutaka Fukumoto, and Hideji Kato will be making appearances at Hotto Motto Field on 5/7 (when the retro Hankyu Braves uniforms from 1975-1979).  They will also take part in the opening pitch ceremonies before the game.
