Alex Ramirez batted fourth in the Yomiuri line-up for the 415th consecutive time during today's game against the Yokohama Bay Stars. That ties him with Hideki Matsui for second on the all-time list.
Shinnosuke Abe took BP for the second straight day today. After doing some walking and running (with cleats) and playing catch at a distance of about 50 meters, Abe took BP for about 20 minutes and hit 15 over the fence. Abe later told reporters that he was close to 100% on hitting and about 70-80% on running.
Yoshinobu Takahashi worked on his lower body today at Giants Stadium (like the exercise bike and walking outdoors).
The Giants decided not to add Adam Bright to the 70-man roster (today was the deadline for foreign players). Said Giants' rep Hidetoshi Kiyotake, "It's not so much that he isn't ready for the 70-man roster because he needs more playing time, but he may have pushed himself too hard because he's currently working through right shoulder pains. We'll keep him as an Ikusei player for a bit longer to see how he does. If he can recover, we figure he'll work towards making the 70-man roster next season."
Ikusei pitcher Koji Yoshioka started a Ni-gun game against Softbank today and gave up 1 run on 4 hits over 6 innings of work.
