Softbank Hawks

Prior to the start of the season, the Hawks placed a pitch count limit of about 100 pitches on Tadashi Settsu.  But now that he's got a few games under his belt (98 pitches in first start; 103 pitches in second start; and 114 pitches in third start), it seems they'll be lifting that limit.  Said pitching coach Ikuo Takayama, "We'll keep checking on his his right shoulder is holding up, but I think he's gotten past a number of hurdles.  I think he's good for about 120 pitches now.  And I think he probably also wants a shot at going the distance.

Nobuhiko Matsunaka had his left thumb examined at a hospital in Fukuoka on Monday.  Tests came back negative for any structural damage.

Seibu Lions

Yusei Kikuchi and Takayuki Kishi are scheduled to make two Ni-gun starts at Kleenex Stadium today and tomorrow.  Both pitchers are from the Tohoku region: Kikuchi is from Iwate and Kishi is from Miyagi.

Nippon Ham Fighters

It seems Masataka Nashida has already selected the 5 starters he'll be going with during Inter-league play.  That includes Yu Darvish and Yuki Saito.

The Fighters announced that Shota Ono's wife gave birth to a healthy baby girl (3,320 grams) on 4/27 at 3:58am.
