Hanshin Tigers

If Tomoaki Kanemoto hits a homer at Hotto Motto Field during tonight's game against the Hiroshima Carp, he'll have homered in 34 different ball parks (good for sole possession of 2nd on the all-time list).

Kenji Jojima is 2 RBI away from a career 1,000 RBI (800 NPB and 198 MLB).

===

Pitching coach Takashi Yamaguchi told reporters yesterday that Daiki Enokida will likely get more opportunities to pitch out of the bullpen, while mixing in other pitchers like Shinobu Fukuhara and Tomoyuki Kubota.  He also said that the team might use Hiroyuki Kobayashi a little less frequently.

===

Minoru Iwata will likely start Thursday's game (5/12) against Hiroshima (at Koshien).

===

Team owner Shinya Sakai told reporters he felt the team had more than enough talent to compete and added that he felt the team was in turmoil (not functioning as a unit) and that Akinobu Mayumi wasn't being assertive enough.  But he also said it was important not to panic since he was sure things would turn around sooner or later.

Yomiuri Giants

Shun Tono will be starting today's game against the Yokohama Bay Stars; this will also be Tono's third neutral ground start.  For the Giants, it will be their first home game in Gunma since 8/4/1955.

The Giants are currently thinking about activating Shinnosuke Abe on 5/17, which marks the start of Inter-league play.  Until then, he'll play in a few rehab games, beginning with today's Ni-gun game against Rakuten.  There was talk about activating him on the 13th, but it seems the team wants to give him as much time a needed.

Hiroshima Carp

Yuya Fukui's next start could come on the 11th (vs Hanshin at Koshien).

Yokohama Bay Stars

Tomokazu Oka has been making adjustments down at Ni-gun since he was taken off the active roster on 4/20.  He pitched in an exhibition game against TDK (Industrial League) on the 6th and tossed 2 shutout inning.  He'll now get to start a Ni-gun game against Yakult today.
