According to Nikkan Sports, the Oakland A's are thinking of starting Hideki Matsui out in left when they play the San Francisco Giants on the road during Inter-league play.
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center nurses donated US$5,000 to relief efforts in northern Japan during a ceremony at Fenway Park on the 10th. Matsuzaka's wife (Tomoyo) and Hideki Okajima's wife (Yuka) made appearances to thank the nurses for their contribution.
