Kazuhisa Ishii threw 15 pitches in the bullpen yesterday.
Chiba Lotte Marines
After his start today against the Seibu Lions, Yoshihisa Naruse will be pitching on 5 days of rest for a little while (assuming no additional rain outs during Inter-league play).
It seems there's a good chance the Marines will added Ikusei infielder Kota Sumi to the 70-man roster (he would essentially be taking over Naotaka Takehara's spot on the roster). A final decision will likely be made after the 17th.
Nippon Ham Fighters
According to Daily Sports, Yu Darvish has complete control of his fastball and slider last night. Perhaps part of the reason why he was able to strike out 15 batters.
Yuki Saito worked out at Kleenex Stadium yesterday. Saito did not do any running and worked on training and stretching exercises for his right shoulder. When asked about the pain in his left flank, he told reporters there was no change from yesterday. According to the trainer, Saito still has some inflammation in the area.
Saito is scheduled to stay with the team until the 12th, take the day off on the 13th, and head to Kamagaya on the 14th for rehab.
The Buffaloes have now gone 24 games, since the start of the season, without back-to-back victories. That apparently ties the franchise record set by the Hankyu Braves in 1959.
