PL News and Notes: Seibu Lions might have to play 13 in a row in July

Seibu Lions

With another rain-out, the Lions will skip over Kazuhisa Ishii's start and move on to Fumiya Nishiguchi tomorrow.  Ishii's starts were rained out two nights in a row.

Today's rainout means the Lions may have to play 13 in a row in July (7/8 - 7/20) -- that's assuming the make-up for today's game gets shifted to 7/14.  They already have a string of 10 straight games in June / July (6/24 - 7/3).

Chiba Lotte Marines

The Marines will probably skip over Yoshihisa Naruse's start and go with Yuki Karakawa tomorrow.  Naruse's starts were rained out two nights in a row.

Nippon Ham Fighters

Yu Darvish met with Senichi Hoshino (RAK) at Kleenex Stadium today.

Yuki Saito is scheduled to report to Kamagaya tomorrow to begin his rehab.  At this point, it seems possible he'll be out for about a month.

Orix Buffaloes

The Buffaloes held an emergency team meeting (about 20 minutes long) after tonight's loss.  The Buffaloes are currently 8 games under 500.

Rakuten Eagles

Akinori Iwamura was benched today for the first time this season.

Hisashi Iwakuma played some catch at Kleenex Stadium today and later told reporters after practice that his right shoulder was feeling better than yesterday but was still feeling a little tighter than usual.  Senichi Hoshino told reports they might skip his next start.
