Rakuten Eagles: Darrel Rasner leaves in the middle of the first with a right leg injury

by on May.15, 2011 @ 8:49 pm, under NPB

Darrell Rasner left today's game against the Chiba Lotte Marines with an injury to his right leg -- he tweaked the leg while going after a 1-out bunt by Shota Ishimine in the first inning.

Rasner was checked out at a hospital in Chiba and was diagnosed with a minor strain in his right adductor muscle that'll require 2-3 weeks for a full recovery.

Who steps into his rotation spot. I don’t think Yasunori Kikuchi is the answer here.

With the start of Inter-league play, they could go with a 4-man rotation. That could mean Iwakuma, Tanaka, Nagai, and maybe Shiomi. But I think the Eagles will skip Iwakuma’s next start, so that means they might need another arm. Aoyama or Katayama could be options as well.
