Softbank Hawks

Tsuyoshi Wada will probably start tomorrow's game against the Hiroshima Carp.

Orix Buffaloes

Akinobu Okada and batting coach Kozo Shoda worked directly with Takahiro Okada on his hitting today.  T-Okada later told reporters that the was told he's focusing too much on his lower body.

Okada used Hiroshi Kisanuki in relief yesterday (bottom of the 8th) hoping that he'd come around and put together a decent 1-inning outing.  Instead, he gave up 2 consecutive hits (a single and a 2-run homer) to the first 2 batters he faced, before getting out of the inning.

The Buffaloes announced that former Hankyu Brave (1955-1964) / Kintetsu Buffalo (1965) Roberto Barbon will be on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch on the 21st (at Kyocera Dome vs Hiroshima).  Buffaloes will also be wearing their retro Hankyu Braves uniforms on the 20th and 21st.

Rakuten Eagles

Takeshi Yamasaki was excused from full-team workouts Kleenex Stadium but still dropped by in order to use the large bath in the club house.

The Eagles announced that a number of their Ni0gun players will be visiting Tendo Shiritsu Kurazo Elementary (Yamagata) on 5/17 between 11:20am and 12:30pm.
