Tsuyoshi Wada will probably get today's start against Hiroshima.
Hideaki Wakui will likely get today's start against the Yokohama Bay Stars (Omiya). He worked out at Seibu 2 Stadium yesterday and didn't experience any problems.
Hisanobu Watanabe told reporters he plans on starting Hideto Asamura out in left during Inter-league games at CL parks (since Jose Fernandez will swing over to play first).
Chiba Lotte Marines
Bill Murphy will likely start today's game against the Chunichi Dragons.
The Marines haven't been taking starters not scheduled to pitch on the road with this year. Instead, they've stayed behind and worked out at their Ni-gun training complete in Urawa. The Marines will probably keep doing this during Inter-league play. While it may not seem like a big deal, in the NPB it means CL teams will be able to make guesses on who they'll face by looking at the roster. But the Marines apparently don't want to break out of their set rhythm just because it's Inter-league play.
Nippon Ham Fighters
The Fighters are thinking about flip-flopping Yu Darvish and Masaru Takeda's starts. That means Takeda could end up starting today and Darvish tomorrow.
Yuki Saito will probably continue on with his current throwing schedule (playing catch at a distance of about 30 meters) for at least another two days. If he's feeling fine after that, the Fighters will increase his work load (like adding long distance throwing). If all gets well, he could toss a bullpen session as early as the 24th.
The Buffaloes held an emergency practice session for all 17 position players yesterday.
The Eagles handed out iPad2s (WiFi; 16GB) to all their Ichi-gun players on the 16th. Through the iPads, players have complete access to the team's video database.
