60th All Japan University Championships to use tie-break rules

by on May.18, 2011 @ 11:32 pm, under College

The All Japan University Baseball Federation (JUBF) held a meeting today in order to go over a number of things for the 60th All Japan University Championships.  Amongst some of the things that were confirmed:

When games go into extra innings, the following tie-break rule will go into effect (beginning in the 10th inning, and not for the Finals game): the inning will begin with the bases loaded and 1 out; and managers will be able to choose where in the line-up the 10th inning begins.  This will be a first for the tournament.

Lighting will be limited to what's necessary and brightness for things like the scoreboard will be adjusted accordingly.

For stadiums that are scheduled to play 3 or more games on one day, the first game will begin at 8:30am (30 minutes earlier than usual).

Venues will not change (Jingu Stadium and Tokyo Dome).
