Chunichi Dragons

Daisuke Yamai joined the Ichi-gun roster for practice today.  He could get a start against the Seibu Lions (5/20 and 5/21).

Hanshin Tigers

Keiichi Hirano told reporters after practice that his left hamstring was feeling worse than expected.

The Tigers showed off their black retro uniforms they'll be wearing during Inter-league play after practice at Koshien Stadium today.

Craig Brazell worked on his hitting at Koshien Stadium today.  Akinobu Mayumi also spent some time working with Brazell.

Ikketsu Sho started a Ni-gun game against Yakult today and gave up 1 run (solo homer in the 6th) on 6 hits over 6 innings of work.

Yomiuri Giants

Taishi Ota took some fielding practice in the outfield during teams practices at Sapporo Dome today.  Tatsunori Hara could turn to Ota in games against left-handed pitching.

Injury updates: Yoshiyuki Kamei (fractured right index finger) took some soft toss BP (about 20 tosses) at Giants Stadium today.  This was Kamei's first round of BP since he was diagnosed with a fracture on the 15th. ... After playing some catch outdoors at Giants Stadium today, Yoshinobu Takahashi (fractured ribs) stood in the outfield to flag down balls hit during BP.  It seems not flew in his direction though.

Hiroshima Carp

Jumpei Shinoda was demoted to Ni-gun after two straight starts in which he had to be yanked early.  In those two starts, Shinoda gave up 16 runs (14 earned) on 15 hits (2 homers) and 6 walks over 5 innings of work.
