Chunichi Dragons

Daisuke Yamai could get tomorrow's start against the Seibu Lions.  He's been working out with the Ichi-gun team since Thursday.

Hanshin Tigers

Takashi Toritani is 0-for-7 since his finger injury.  That's not intended to make it sound like he was tearing the cover off the ball before the injury, but it did seem as though he was beginning to turn a corner this month.

Keiichi Hirano was left out of the starting line-up for the first time this season.  Hirano told reporters he was feeling ok and that he probably could have played if he had to.  The Tigers were likely playing it safe with him.

Yomiuri Giants

The 300 fans that attend the Giants Ni-gun game against Nippon Ham on the 28th will have a chance to attend a player signing after the game (about 20 players are scheduled to appear).  The Giants will also be giving out special prizes during a Rock-Scissor-Paper tournament before the game.

Injury updates: Yoshinobu Takahashi (fractured ribs) took fielding practice in the outfield today. ... Michihiro Ogasawara (left upper calf area) played catch at a max distance of about 20 meters for around 20 minutes today.

===

The media learned today that team owner Takuo Takihana will be stepping down from his post with team president Tsuneo Momoi taking over as president / owner.  The decision will be confirmed during a board of directors meeting on 5/24 and an official decision will be reached at a stockholder's meeting on 6/7.

The Giants announced that they'll be hosting Japan Red Cross Day at Tokyo Dome on the 25th (vs Softbank).

Hiroshima Carp

Kenjiro Nomura made a mistake when filling the line-up card before tonight's game against the Orix Buffaloes...  He penciled in Takeru Imamura at DH, thinking he'd be able to switch him out before his at bat came around.  Unfortunately, he wasn't thinking about the rule that required DHs to get at last one at bat, unless the opposing team changed their pitcher.
