Softbank Hawks

The Hawks are still the only club in the NPB without an Inter-league loss.

Seiichi Uchikawa picked up his 6th modasho of the year, tops in either league.

Chiba Lotte Marines

The Marines are still the only club in the NPB without an Inter-league victory.

Nippon Ham Fighters

Pitching coach Masato Yoshii confirmed to reporters yesterday that the team had no plans of moving Yu Darvish's next start (5/25 vs Chunichi) because of yesterday's rain out.

Yuki Saito threw off a bullpen mound yesterday (34 pitches, standing catcher) for the first time since injuring his left oblique and later told reporters he felt he was at 100%.

Saito: "I was a little cautious but I felt no discomfort.  I also didn't feel anything after throwing.  I think I'm back at 100%. ... Things are going well.  I'd like to throw around 100 pitches.  But I'm worried about re-injuring myself so I can't let do my guard. "

Sports Hochi is carrying a slightly different quote:

Things are going well.  I haven't been feeling any pain lately.  I think I've returned to 100%. ... When I injured myself it came all of a sudden.  I can't let down my guard.  The thing that worries me the most is re-injuring myself because of I wasn't being careful about something.

Saito apparently has his eyes on making his first rehab start on either the 29th (vs Yomiuri) or 31st (vs Rakuten), but may have to wait until either 6/4 or 6/5 (vs Yokohama) when the games are played at Kamagaya.

Orix Buffaloes

Chan Ho Park apparently shaved down his hair in an attempt to mix things up a bit.

Rakuten Eagles

Shinichiro Koyama started a game against his former team, the Chunichi Dragons, and took the lost.  Coincidentally, it was also his first start since he was a Dragon (8/31/2000 vs Hiroshima).
