Ron Gardenhire told reporters that he figured Tsuyoshi Nishioka will need 40-50 at bats before he's ready to rejoin the club.  A snip from the StarTrinbue:

Nishioka fractured his left fibula on April 7, so it will be seven weeks on Thursday. Gardenhire said Nishioka likely will need at least 40 to 50 at-bats before being ready to come off the DL.

"I definitely want to give him time," Gardenhire said. "I've seen other guys come back quick, and it didn't work out."

MLB.com also has this update:

Nishioka, who has been sidelined since April 7 with a broken left fibula, has made a lot of progress in his rehabilitation at the club's Spring Training facility in Fort Myers, Fla.

"[He] did very good today," McWane said. "They've increased his workouts, he's doing just about everything he can on the field. His agility drills are going great and he's very close to playing in a game. We anticipate, maybe by the end of the week, he'll be playing in games."

The Texas Rangers called Yoshinori Tateyama up from Triple-A on the 23rd.  A snip from an ESPN update:

Coming to Arlington is 35-year-old reliever Yoshinori Tateyama. Heading south on I-35 are infielder Chris Davis, catcher Taylor Teagarden and reliever Cody Eppley.

The Rangers needed two roster spots to activate Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz.

Tateyama, a side-arming right-hander, in 14 appearances was 1-0 with a 2.14 ERA for the Express. He is in uniform tonight.
