The NPB after the big quake, Day 75 [May 25, 2011]

by on May.25, 2011 @ 2:35 pm, under NPB

I'll keep this updated throughout the day.

Chunichi Dragons

The Dragons tested lighting conditions during practices at Nagoya Dome yesterday (they tried opening a portion of the shutters in the roof).  With the Hamaoka nuclear reactors coming offline, the Dragons are working on their energy conservation plans at the dome.

Hanshin Tigers

Takahiro Arai, Takashi Toritani, and 5 Ni-gun players (Masashi Nohara, Issei Morita, Masanori Fujihara, Ryunosuke Yokoyama, and Daiki Kiyohara) helped collect donations before tonight's game against the Chiba Lotte Marines.

Yomiuri Giants

Ni-gun INF / base-running coach Hiroshi Moriwaki donated 1M yen to relief efforts in northern Japan.

Hayato Sakamoto helped design the Red Cross Charity Tote Bag.  Before today's game, he helped sell the bags by personally handing them to the first 150 customers.  Proceeds from the sales of the bag will be donated to relief efforts in northern Japan.

Rakuten Eagles

The Eagles raised about 3.4M yen through their charity uniform auctions.  A total 10 game uniforms from 4/29 were auctioned off; Masahiro Tanaka's uniform went 803,000 yen.  The total amount will be donated to relief efforts in northern Japan.
