The Japan High School Baseball Federation (JHBF) reappointed Takayasu Okushima (奥島孝康) as chairperson during a trustee's meeting today.  Shimane High School Baseball Federation's chairperson, Jun (?) Oshima (大島淳), was named the new vice chairperson.  Both positions come with 2-year terms.

The JHBF named Urawa Gakuin High School (Saitama) manager Osamu Mori and Seiko Gakuin High School (Fukushima) manager Tomoya Saito as coaches for the National High School team that will be competing at the AAA Asia Championship (6-day tournament that begins on 8/28 in Yokohama and Yokosuka, Kanagawa).

The JHBF decided on updated rules (including 5 or fewer scholarship students per grade; no disbursement of living expenses outside of tuition fees and other school-related expenses) for students that require scholarships.  The updated rules will take effect next year.

Three high schools in Fukushima (Futabashoyo High School, Tomioka High School, and Soma Nogyo High School) applied for permission to take part in the Fukushima Tournament in a joint effort.  The final team would contain 14 players from Futabashoyo, 1 player from Tomioka, and 3 players from Soma Nogyo.  The mixed team is scheduled to take part in their first practice on the 29th.
